Southtech and Cambodian Microfinance Association Hold Seminar
Phnom Penh, 24 February 2010: Southtech and Cambodia
Microfinance Association (CMA) held a seminar on Technology Effectiveness
in Microfinance and Retail Banking on 24 February 2010 in Cambodiana Hotel,
Phnom Penh. The seminar was presided over by Her Excellency Tal Ney Im,
Secretary General and Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia.
In her speech, she emphasized the important role of technology in the
effective management of microfinance institutions and urged all attendees
to carefully assess their needs against the solution being demonstrated
by Southtech.
The President of CMA, Mr. Chea Phalarin and the CEO of
Southtech, Mr. Syed Mamnun Quader spoke at the seminar. Southtech’s
Director of Strategy and Relationships, Mr. Muhammad H Kafi gave a detailed
overview of how Southtech gives value to its clients while Southtech’s
Product Manager, Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman gave a demonstration of Ascend
Banking in the day-long seminar.
“We are happy at the outcome of the seminar. We
received very positive feedback from the attendees that clearly shows
that the unique features of Ascend Banking were very well appreciated
and were suitable for MFIs in Cambodia,” said Southtech CEO, Syed
Mamnun Quader.
