Success Story: Nandan Mega Shop, Bangladesh

Solution: A Retail Management Solution with WEB based reporting.

Overview 

Nandan Group, with their first retail outlet, Nandan Mega Shop, brought the likes of Sainsbury’s in Bangladesh in the Year 2002. Having evaluated a number of alternatives including Singaporean solutions, Nandan Group selected Southtech Limited to automate their mega shop on a turnkey basis and signed a contract in September 2002. In December 2002, Nandan Mega Shop opened its doors to the public, equipped with Southtech’s comprehensive retail management solution.

The time to implement such a large-scale turnkey project was indeed tight. Special needs of Nandan were quickly identified, agreed and implemented in the software in record time. The entire Retail Management Team and personnel from Network and Hardware Department worked relentlessly to meet the difficult deadline set. Southtech never fails in their commitments and accordingly the project was implemented within groundbreaking time before the opening of Nandan Mega Shop.

The Solution and Benefits

The road to success was not as smooth as one would want. We faced difficulties at different stages of implementation. People who were more familiar with the traditional system of retail business management were mostly technology adverse and showed skepticism about automation. Many products had already been ordered for from suppliers, many verbally, even before the deployment of the solution and therefore there were problems with initial reconciliation of orders versus supplies. Southtech personnel quickly rushed in to provide immediate customer support in the reconciliation process. 

Today, retailers are moving quickly to better know their customers.
